The Girl Behind the Lens

Hi! (: My name is Brooke, I'm the owner of Remembrance Fotos Photography and have a strong passion for this form of art. Let me tell ya a bit about my photography endeavor (:

I started to get interested in photography around spring 2009 when my oldest brother, Nathan, went into a very popular photography company to get his Senior pictures taken. The professional photographer there told me how much fun photography was and also told me what I loved hearing most -- she didn't have to go to college for it! I immediately loved photography even more and soon started taking pictures of anything and everything with my family's lil Samsung Digimax 300 (3.2 megapixel with a 7mm zoom) and our Kodak EasyShare C310 (4.0 megapixel with a 35 mm zoom), it was at this time I started my photography business, Remembrance Fotos. I knew that I was in desperate need of a better camera if I wanted to pursue my photography passion. My parents took notice of the fact I was more and more into photography and thought the pictures I took with those lil cameras were the best (which they weren't, lookin back at em now haha), which is why on Christmas 2009, they gave me my Nikon Coolpix L20 (red, 10 megapixel camera with a 3.6x optical zoom). My Nikon was my first real baby/camera. Unfortunately, I didn't have that long enough to name, because in March 2010, I broke it. Yeah, bummer. For some reason, the screen wouldn't turn on, but it still took pics... and it didn't transfer any pics. I went back to our EasyShare for a month, then in April 2010, my daddy bought me Dixie.

Dixie has been my baby forever, she's a Fujifilm Finepix S1500 (10.0 megapixels with a 5.9-70.8mm zoom). She's been a great camera all these years, tied with wonderful memories of fun photo shoots with my TX friends and sisters. Dixie has suffered alot... since winter 2010, she hurt her battery cage area, which made her have duct tape there to keep the batteries in. But with that minor fracture, she still was a wonderful camera, and took alot of wonderful pictures (: But as of September 15, 2012, Dixie has been replaced. I've been saving up for a Canon Rebel for quite some time now, and my parents knew this. They gave me my Angel on September 15 as a 17th birthday/Christmas/graduation gift. Angel is a Canon EOS Rebel T3i (18 megapixels with a 18-55mm zoom). Dixie is still getting some use out of her! I passed her on down to my lil sister/best friend who also kinda likes photography and has a pretty good eye for it too! (:

I love my Canon and I can't wait to see what's in store with me and Angel... (:
